Looking for any way to bring more guests to his struggling inn, Alex sets up an exhibit in an area of his quarters to display one of the country's most precious emeralds. Unfortunately the gem only seems to be attracting passersby, but that's the least of his worries. On the final day of the exhibit the security guard is stabbed to death and it's soon discovered that the emerald still on display is a fake. As if matters weren't bad enough, the murder weapon was Alex's own letter opener.
