David Best
David Best grew up in Sylvania, Ohio, a little suburb of
Toledo. After obtaining a bachelor's degree at the
University of Toledo, Best became a teacher of ninth grade
general science in Sylvania. Best lasted six months as a
public school teacher, before being lured away into pursuit
of a PhD. He moved to New Orleans and spent five years at
Tulane working on a doctorate in human anatomy. He
eventually went on to teach microscopic anatomy at the
University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis and
published dozens of papers on wound healing which prompted
him to write novels.
